Tipuric named Welsh Captain

Everyone at Trebanos RFC was overjoyed at the news of Justin Tipuric announced as Wales Captain. Following in the footsteps of previous captains Bleddyn Bowen and Robert Jones, Tips will this weekend become the club's third welsh captain when they take on the All Blacks.

Chairman Chris Penhale quoted: "In our 125 years of rugby this will be our third Welsh captain. Quite remarkable."

Having come through the junior system at the club, Justin is a firm favourite at the club, where he eventually went on to coach the first team, starting them on the journey to the championship. His rise to senior rugby took him to our friends at Aberavon , before progressing in to the senior ranks at the Ospreys. This weekend will see Justin win his 87th welsh cap, to go with his one Lions test cap, having toured twice with the Lions, missing out on a third with a shoulder injury!

After missing over a year of rugby, this will be his first Wales appearance since that injury in the Lions warm up match, so the added spice of being captain against the world's best at home will sure add to the excitement of the day.

In what will be another big day for @TrebanosRugby and the Tipuric family, we at the club wish you Tips and @WelshRugbyUnion the very best of luck, the whole village is behind you.

For those not making the trip to the capital today, the club will be open from 12:30pm with the game being shown live upstairs and downstairs. 🔵🔵
