Trebanos RFC are pleased to announce the additions of former Aberavon great Ian Moore and Trebanos faithful Nick Damjanovic to the coaching staff. 

Ian, better known to the Aberavon faithful as 'Buddha ' , enjoyed a successul career which saw him play for the Barbarians as well as staggering 379 games in the famous Wizards jersey, scoring 12 tries. Having spent the larger part of his career as captain of Aberavon, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the club , and will now look to pass on all knowledge on to our young and developing pack. 

Speaking on his appointment Ian said : 

" First and foremost I'd like to thank the committee of Trebanos RFC and Rhodri for giving me the opportunity to join the  coaching staff. "

"I can't wait to test myself in this league, with the aim of having a skillful and physical pack, who will be competitive in every game they play. "

"Looking forward to starting my new role and meeting the players and supporters over the coming weeks."

Nick, finally returns to the club where it all began many moons ago. After coming through the junior and youth systems at the club, he spent many succesful seasons in the Trebanos first team, establishing himself in to a great outside half in the process. During his career, Nick spent time at Llanelli, Aberavon and Swansea, before spending a couple of years on the coaching sytem at Cwmavon RFC. Now he will look to develop our exciting back line, and continue on with the exciting brand of rugby as well as develop our young fly halves. 

Nick added :

"I’ve had many great memories, experiences and achievements as a player at Trebanos through juniors, youth and senior rugby. Having the opportunity to be involved with the club from a coaching perspective is a massive honour for me personally"

"I can’t thank the club enough for having the faith in me and giving me a chance. I am extremely excited about it and looking forward being back down the park on a Saturday afternoon! 

Speaking on the appointments, both Chairman Chris Penhale and Head coah Rhodri Jones spoke of theyre delight.

Chris said:

"Extremely excited to welcome Ian to the club and to see Nic back in his old stomping ground."

"Along with our long standing coach Rhod, we have the makings of a great coaching team. I am confident the players will embrace our decision and will be eager to get back together whenever the season starts back."

"Really exciting times ahead for the club and it’s supporters. Good luck boys."

Rhod added:

""I'm delighted the club have recruited 2 young, knowledgeable and ambitious coaches, who I'm looking forward to working with immensely. Having both enjoyed successful playing careers I'm certain they'll experience similar success as coaches in the game" 

"Ian and Nic are very popular, likeable and passionate rugby men who our talented squad of players will benefit hugely from working with in what is tough and demanding league."
